Mororcycle makes a putt noise and loses power momentarily. Wrong octane?

could you be hitting the rev limiter? if it only does it at red line on the tach thats the way its suposed to work. if its doing it at lower rpm's it could be fuel starvation due to a partialy plugged pet or filter or colapsed fuel line. your correct about the octane.
