Is there way too much violence on TV and in computer games?

I just got done watching "Cold Case".The story was about a macre at a shopping mall and the perpatrators were two high school boys and a girl.It showed absolute carnage and was extremely graphic.Don't you think there are some kids who might relate to the shooters and want to emulate them?
