Why am I suddenly getting a message saying my copy of windows is illegal?

after downloading the latest updates from windows I am now getting a message saying my windows prog is counterfeit. I bought the machine at Staples with windows preloaded and I'm sure its all legit., The product key code is taped to the bottom of the laptop
