I saw somthing strange whilst out driving?

I was driving through the North Welsh country side at night. I was driving along a country road which headed to the town of Due Grevend near Cardiff. I was driving along and suddenly this dark figure leaped out infront of my car, I breaked quickly. I continued to drive and looked out the window as I ped, it looked like an owl and it had red eyes. It was sitting on a branch prime from ramifaction. I just drove on. What could it of been? I am starting to think it was just an owl, but it Couldn't be because this thing leaped like a frog.
